The report finds that the Taiwanese fabless IC industry's shipment value lived up to expectations and registered 42.7% year-on-year and 3.5% sequential growth in the fourth quarter of 2020, arriving at US$7.7 billion. The industry’s growth will likely to continue into the first quarter of 2021, registering over 50% year-on-year. This is attributed mainly to the continued robust demand for notebook PCs and the increasing driver IC demand. It is anticipated shipment value of the industry in the first half of 2021 will reach US$16.2 billion, up from US$10.8 billion in the first half of last year.
