MARKET OUTLOOK

Triton Market Research has stated that the autonomous mobile robots market in the Middle East and Africa is likely to develop with a CAGR of 23.88% in the projected years from 2021 to 2028. Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Rest of MEA together form the market in this region.

In August 2017, renowned tech group Wärtsilä and shipping & courier delivery service provider DHL joined hands to deploy AMRs from Fetch Robotics in South Africa, to streamline warehouse operations. The aim of this partnership was to investigate and implement the latest technologies in the daily operations of warehouses, and saw a successful pilot wherein the companies tested Fetch’s autonomous mobile robots. DHL also indicated that it wants to gain a better understanding of the added value provided by robotics in a warehouse environment and learn more about the human-technology interface between employees & robots.

On the other hand, in October 2018, Turkey-based mobile robot manufacturer Turnaco announced a new autonomous mobile robot solution named Mouro. Mouro is an autonomous disinfecting & carpet-sweeping robot designed specifically for mosques. Its cleaning system first sweeps carpets and then disinfects them with UV lamps. In May 2021, FMCG giant Unilever partnered with Milvus Robotics, based in Turkey, to help automate the movement of products and materials through their home and personal care factory in the country. Unilever also deployed a fleet of two SEIT100 and fifteen SEIT500 autonomous mobile robots at the factory. All these developments are driving the growth of the Turkish market for AMRs.

COMPETITIVE OUTLOOK

The prominent companies operating in the autonomous mobile robots market are Fetch Robotics Inc, Vecna Robotics, Kuka AG, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc, SoftBank Robotics, The Aviation Industry Corporation of China, The Hi Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd, and Aethon Inc.
