< Key Hightlight >
wo US companies sit on top of the thematic screen of GlobalData’s telecom infrastructure sector scorecard. Cisco and Intel have very similar scores across the 10 themes that matter most to their industry, with Cisco’s slightly better ratings for the themes of cybersecurity, programmable infrastructure, and everything as a service giving it a slight edge.
Scope
This sector scorecard provides a top-down, comprehensive outlook for the key players in the telecom infrastructure sector over the next two years, based on the key themes set to transform their industry landscape.
Key Highlights
Close behind the two US vendors are two European giants, Nokia and Ericsson. Notably, both received superior thematic scores than Cisco and Intel for the 5G theme (5 out of 5, compared to 4 out of 5 for their US counterparts). Across the top four, the thematic scores are very similar, with only minor differences deciding the overall rankings.
Reasons to buy
Companies that invest in the right themes become success stories; those that miss the big themes end up as failures. Given that so many themes are disruptive, it is very easy to be blindsided by industry outsiders that invade your sector.
To help our clients gain a competitive advantage, we have developed GlobalData’s thematic research ecosystem. This single, integrated global research platform provides an easy-to-use framework for tracking all themes across all companies in all sectors.
This report is a sector scorecard, which identifies those companies most likely to succeed in a world filled with disruptive threats.
